Unable to join corekeeper world

I have been trying to play multiplayer with my partner however whenever I try to join their world it says it's unable to find her game. When they first start up their in game ID always shows as "None" and after reloading the ID the same message is shown.
When trying to load in through steam it doesn't even give me the option even when steam shows that they are playing the game and in the world.

Even when trying to do the reverse (them joining my game) it just loads for a while before stopping randomly. Anyone else experiancing a similar issue or have a fix for it?

In my case it worked after I disabled crossplay.
