Lore for why characters are brought back to life/reborn/new life?

Convincing my partner to get this game, and she's asking me what her motivation is to appreciate the lore of why she gets another life after dying. I replied with something funny and she stone faced tells me lore is important lol.

I asked her if Terraria had a death/reborn lore and she tells me it doesn't need one.

just play hardcore on a hard map and you dont need lore.

just get it, she doesnt want to play it and is fishing for a excuse

as a "soul" is something harvestable at the game (you gather the ones from some boss enemys, you also can "resummon" them), it seems like the core is also able to draw your soul back to the world, the ancient civilisation mastered their sould/spirit realm and as long as your soul isnt destroyed they had the power to bring you back XD

I agree if she's fine with terraria just spawning you back then it feels more like an excuse not to like the game.

However lore wise you were blasted with a beam a light and woke up next to the core by touching it. So its pretty evident the core is keeping your soul tied to it so you can do its bidding.

She woke telling me she can't stop thinking about this game... so she's been won over. I suggested we let the game mature a little, but we will definitely be getting it now.
