what happened to clean starts?

i saw the game release on Xbox and started a game up - it has character and class selection, which I remember from playing in beta.

Just loaded up a fresh game on PC and inventory has tons of items and stats already on Hardcore? Did they revamp the start to one class and starting items?

I did drop them all so I could start fresh, but it does take away from the initial spirit and challenge of Hardcore?

Odd. You should only start with three items or so.
Not a bunch.

Ah, okay. It is bugged then. Seems it's starting me with a new world, but an old character every time.

Will try uninstalling the PC version with cloud save off and see if that fixes it.

Did you start a fresh character, as well?

I initially loaded into a new world and forgot to switch chars, so had a moment of "wtf?" when I had my endgame inventory from launch.

You have to change both your world AND your character. The character select screen is right after world select.

Aye, I deleted all worlds and characters as I hadn't played on PC since '22.
