It happens even without mods. With mods, it's faar worse.
It would seem that disabling cross-play has resolved the issue for now. Played for a good couple of hours with no DC. I'd award MiniHerc but his comment seems to have disappeared. Thanks Herc
I don't know man. There are a bunch of us, and we keep hearing different things, but haven't heard from the devs at all. Some said it was old 2022 folders in AssetFiles, it was turning off cross play, it was ray tracing, lol
You do realize that a game can (and most certainly will) have multiple bugs. And not everyone will encounter the same bugs as others. I'm telling you this because turning off cross-play isn't likely to have any effect on the bug you're currently encountering.
What's at issue in this thread sounds like some sort of desync issue. What is happening is that while some users are paying the game it will close the session & save and then return to the main menu. [A forcible soft-close of the session but not the program] Turning off cross-play seems to fix the issue for most (if not everyone) experiencing the issue.
If you're unable to even start up the game, that is an entirely different issue that you're encountering with a different and likely unrelated cause than the issue this thread is about.
