Malugaz the Corrupted primary boss now
So with the release of 1.0 and them switching up Malagaz with the Hive Mother being optional, what's the best gear and strategy for Malugaz? I've gotten roasted so far. Feel like I had better gear during beta. Any advice for solo player would be great. Thanks!

During phase 2 when he teleports get as far away from where he appears as you can. With enough movement speed (or the teleport off-hand) he will stop chasing you and you get a few seconds to fire at him until he teleports again. That tends to make him a lot easier if you're having trouble.

As for gear; just the most recent set for your playstyle. Wiki can help point you to what set that is and how to obtain it. There are some sets around that point which are drops from various sources, or you can default to old reliable (iron).

Traps. Place traps (metal is best) where he spawns in, leave one space for placing the rune, and run quickly when he appears. Run outside and then to some wall close to him, and just wait. He will teleport to you twice (1x in first form, 1x in second form), but just do some (minor) damage and will teleport back to 'heal', but otherwise leave you in peace. Just wait, while he takes damage on the tiles.

I think this might get fixed, but Malugaz is really too difficult, rather the difficulty should get fixed. It is possible to win the battle fair if you manage to study his attack patterns, but honestly, I prefer spending my time differently. :D

Alright, just gotta cheese him a bit. Glad to see you also think he's a bit much for being mandatory. Or maybe the other two are just way too easy? Either way, thanks for the advice.
