I'd be stuck for quite awhile switching screens, pressing everything on my keyboard, mouse and controller... trying to bring my in-game cursor back to life.
can click whatever the cursor is on, but can't move the cursor at all.
no amount of shaking helps. lol. ain't a T-rex around to keep so still.......
never had this issue in early-access where i switch between mouse and controller all the time.
if it helps any, my mouse is a razer abyssus mirror special edition.
set to 125hz and 1800dpi.
does changing to windowed/fullscreen change anything?
oo thanks will put in a report there.
just tried windowed, no difference. my mouse is still stuck, can't move.
Yeah, I know it can be something unrelated from the game and can be something else, but I find it weird that it happened just as I played this game and never before as well as having this topic here showing that someone else has the same issue as me. Minus the out of game situation.
Restarting did nothing, and I still experience the un-responsive mouse. I'm leaning more toward it not being caused by this game and instead it might be a bad coincident but I can't really rule it out neither. The Event Viewer doesn't seem to log anything neither.
Gonna have to read up more on this, but I kinda got tired of the same, "check connection, cables, updates, anti-virus, the current solar flares of the sun, and other common first type of tips to check first that everyone ask all the time which dilutes the help one can find on the internet."
Anyway, if nothing else, I'm adding my issue here to show that, maybe, it's an issue in the game as it first happened in this game.
aw man that's awful. i'd probably buy a new mouse lol..... or at least try another mouse and see if it's a mouse issue.
so far my mouse is fine outside of the game.
but i submitted a bug report on their site including a video too, so let's hope they'll look into it.
Thanks.
I'm 100%'ish sure it's not the game.
It was a very bad coincident…almost too coincidental…
Anyway, I don't believe the issue was caused by this game. Or if it was, then it's a very bad bug which can damage USB ports, i.e., not very likely.
I also submitted a bug-report as well just in case something's up with the game.
hmmm i'll try the next time my mouse gets jammed in-game.
but that said, this never was a problem before ver1 release.
over 300hours in the game using both controller and mouse and i never had this stuck-mouse problem till now.
go to your save dir
C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\LocalLow\Pugstorm\Core Keeper\Steam\xxxxxx\saves
find your charachter ,open your save file using notepad , find the maxed skill and reduce the skill xp from there
exemple {"skillID":0,"value":56250} to {"skillID":0,"value":56249}
note that skillid 0 is the digging skill
save your file
try
do you have pet?
your pet could be bugged take it off and try
cant....find... such saves file. lol.
maybe because i'm playing in a world hosted by someone else? (literally we're in the same household). he uses mouse and keyboard all the way, and has no issues with controls. just me. i'm a joined player.
but yeah i do have a pet. i'll try taking the pet off when i get the mouse-jam.
i might try start my own new world with the current character and see if i get mouse-jam in my own world game.
but if user-walach is in his own world save file and has the mouse jam problem too, then i might get the same thing.
further to my response above.
are you in your own new world, solo?
i'm a joined player in another's hosted world and get the mouse jams while host has no problems.
but also. no, i dont have any maxed skills as i created a new chara to go with the new world so all my skills are not (yet) maxed.
I got the bug when hosting a game with one other player.
But as I learned it really was a huge coincident, if the game somehow didn't mess with my USB that is, I haven't had the issue today when playing with the same 1 person for a few hours. I switched USB port for where my mouse is connected to and now I haven't had any issues at all.
Why can't I have a good coincident, like finding a stack of money randomly while finding out I really was the heir to the Nigerian prince? >:(

What is the native resolution of your monitor? If 4k, can you reduce it to standard 1080p for testing? (1920x1080) (Also - Is your OS correctly identifying your monitor Mfr/Model?)
Try disabling the Steam Overlay for the game: Steam-> Library-> R-Click on Core Keeper-> Properties-> Untoggle "Enable Steam Overlay."
Disable or unplug your controller if you're using one. Test.
Are you using headphones? Try disabling/unplugging those for testing purposes.
Make sure your mouse and GPU drivers are up-to-date and check your mouse manufacturer's site to see if they have any reports/advisories/FAQ if none of the above seems to have any effect.
Resolution mismatch and lost focus windows aren't that uncommon with Steam games, the Steam Overlay, and HD monitors or TVs being used as a monitor, especially paired with headphones and other peripherals.
