has a link to another topic where the devs said "we dont plan to do this"
why did i linked not the other topic directly?
because i made comments there why it does not get supported.
to say it here aswell in a nuttshell.
1. ultra widescreen is still a minority and not worth to putt ressources on it.
and
2. ultra widescreen would make no sense on core keeper. what do you want to see on the far left and right? only darkness? ultra widescreen makes maybe sense on games like terraria where you atleast see at day to the far left and and far right but here on core keeper makes it absolutely no sense to support it.
make a mod on your own or something like that.

you dont use torches or lights?
Yeah, but the latest Steam survey (https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/Steam-Hardware-Software-Survey-Welcome-to-Steam) shows it's still roughly 5% of users that have it.
Is it rly so hard to implement when most games support it?
They do have creative ideas and can create phenomenal games, but their mindset is just disgraceful.
It's a freakin' singleplayer/non-competitive MP game - why would you be such a pathetic elitist in 2024? holy moly.
Refusing to support Ultrawide is the equivalent of console gamers whining about PC players using mods in singleplayer games.
EDIT: With 1.0, they could have implemented Ultrawide, but what did they do? They rewrote the code to make the ultrawide mod stop working and make it practically impossible for a modder to recreate the ultrawide mod.
Pathetic
99% of indie games, especially top-down pixel art and boomer shooters support 21:9 and 32:9 resolutions flawlessly. Terraria does and it's ancient. Stardew Valley does.
It's not acceptable to isolate these players in 2024. Ultrawide has uses outside of just people with double-wide screens, it's also a key feature for say using nucleus co-op, and running 2 instances of the game on one screen for split screen, as divided horizontally a 16:9 4k screen becomes 2x 3840x1080 32:9 screens, which is lovely for many games.
No one cares about playing online with strangers that I know of, outside of for stuff like Halo and mainstream online FPS. These types of indie games, 99% of people I know want to either play them in the same room on LAN, or even better cozied up on the same screen together. So sick of every single dev that's not Nintendo trying to kill couch co-op since basically 2010.
What an idiotic take/response on this topic.
