Cattle Escaping?

I built some pens made of fence and fence gates exclusively not long before the new update. Currently, when I go off to explore the map and return, I find that some of my cattle are missing. I'll then walk around the base and find those same (named) cattle outside the pen wandering, so I drag them back with a leash. This has happened several times already. I'm pretty sure this wasn't an issue before so it may be a bug with the update and fences? I noticed this behavior with the cattle before trying the new painted fences feature, so maybe there is some inherent problem with fences and/or fence gates ATM.

Has anyone else noticed this? I am digging a trench now to stem the problem for now.

Hmm... I don't use fence as wall stop my animal from leaving. Reason is me some time end up killing my animal by accident when I using my musket trying to shoot a mushroom. Those fence don't stop my bullet. Also I accidentally kill them by magic too.

Instead I using a maze block(in case of me blow it up by accident by shooting a rocket bomb) wall instead with water next to it. It been keeping that animal inside just fine. With a teleport door inside.

i remember animals clipping through things was an issue in the past
my pen has glass walls with no diagonals, and a moat around it and that worked well but aside form that i wouldnt trust a fence

Same issue, I built fences then go adventuring and when I come back, at least one of them is lose eating my nearby crops. Don't know what to do besides just keeping them in their terrain and visit them.

Same here i think its a bug, could be since you can paint fences now.It should be fixed soon i guess, but ye its annyoing.
