Private Servers?
Will we be able to host persistent private servers on third party services like AWS or G-Portal? For Co-Op

Its not needed, play the game like it is designed or go for another. No money waste and paywalls for your dedicated servers, private servers always fraud.

here's a quote at the top of the post YOU JUST RESPONDED TO

game devs for this game:"Right now it is hosted by the client only, but we are planning to add support for dedicated servers."

WE need dedicated servers for all the reasons mentioned in this thread!!

Until a dedicated server comes out I'll be trying to run the client full time on my ESXi server so my 3 kids and me can have a persistent world. Not sure how well that will work once my dummy character dies of starvation though.

A lot of the people asking for dedicated servers have no intentions of paying money to a hosting site. These are people with hardware ready to run servers who want a persistently online world available to multiple machines, public or not. No money waste, just encouraging devs to do something for a game that would be so greatly complimented by this feature.

These serials games must have dedicated server, think I'm hosting a server, but I have to go, my friends can't play without me.

Hi Thero, thank you so much for your detailed look into the benefits of dedicated servers. I've passed this along to the developers who will be sure to give it a read through. While we don't have anything to announce with regards to multiplayer at the moment, we are always exploring new options as the game progresses. If there are any changes to the way multiplayer functions, we'll be sure to announce it on all of our social media and possibly with a Steam news update!

If this is the go - will migrating currently hosted games from a private account to a hosted environment be available? We would like to request to shift environments over if/when hosted servers become functional.

Please, do tell us more about what is and isn't needed for the game with your 1.7 hours in it. They are adding it and do need to. Our group will add 3 dedicated servers and 16-24 players-purchases to this title, once dedis are added. Can't wait.

Do you need an extra game license /steam account for the VM or there is a way to at least avoid that ?

From everything I have been reading you do need to buy a spare account.

SOME games you can make a copy of the game files and run it from it's exe. But I personally did not try, I just bought a spare copy on my Steam account dedicated to development issues.

I can confirm that running the client and keeping yourself enclosed in a bed keeps your server hosting client alive basically forever
