Teleport?

I've tried the free weekend and while I like a lot of aspects, one thing that frustrated me was trekking back to a distant area upon resurrecting. For example, I was far off to the south, when somehow I mined into a room with 5 glowing red eyes enemies, 3 of them melee, one big guy and a shaman. Suffice to say that before I knew what was going on, I was already back to the core haha!

It doesn't help that the map is sooooo pixelated on 1440p resolution and so it was really confusing trying to get all the way back there.

Long post short: are there any plans for some sort of respawn teleport in 1.0?

I played since Saturday, i found a few teleporters "waypoints", one is located sort of exacly at she middle south wall with the Malugas dungeons are at too, also i have a rail system that sort of covers North, South, East and West.

Late game there are portals you can craft and place, also with enough mining skill (don't know if it can be done pre-1.0) you can mine the Waypoints to pick them up and put them where ever you like - just go to a new world and mine up a couple etc.

Before then you can place a bed where ever you like and sleep in it so if you die you'll respawn there instead.

I think so.... I haven't died in a long time though so I haven't personally tested it, but it used to be used as a 'trick' to afk power-level running before the Devs decreased XP needed in 0.9.9.9

to mine the waypoints you need something between 500-1000 miningpower

i found 2 waypoints:
one waypoint does spawn around 35 tiles out, another 250

so yeah you could start multiple other maps and go for the nearby one if you have the mining and farm em
