Malugaz the Corrupted as the third core statue?

I just got the game, and I was looking at some progression guides and they all mention 'the hive mother' as being the third statue. In my 1.0 world the statue seems to be of Malugaz the Corrupted. The guide mentions its a very hard optional boss, but has it been rebalanced in 1.0 to be doable with iron gear?

Yeah, seems that Hive Mother is now the optional boss and Malugaz is the new third boss required. Honestly Malugaz feels easier than the Hive Mother in my opinion. Hive Mother boss was a pain as it would constantly turn areas of the room into acid and constantly spawn adds the whole fight.

Malugaz is a single target fight, though he does set areas of the arena on fire during his fight and he does have a phase two as well. Even so I feel like he's a slightly easier time than the Hive Mother.

Most guides are going to be outdated, since a big update just dropped. The wiki is partially updated, and I imagine it will be continue to be updated with the new content/changes over the next while.

Maybe I just cheesed Hive Mother in Beta but I think it's way easier than Malugaz if you just set up the arena. This guy is making me wonder what gear I have to get first because the new summoning bats aren't cutting it.
