Report a translation problem
My gardening wasn't 100 ever though so I don't think it's an experience issue.
I was also running around the desert and wondered why my shcolar staff wasnt firing,..... it had vanished and my 1 toolbar was just empty !!! Even ran around to see if I somehow accidentally dropped it, but i had not. Two bugs in 20 minutes :(
While I am sorry you have these issues, at least I know I`m not going crazy and it seems that there are issues now
I had no problems with the 4x4 iron hoe giving reliable 16 seeds but I did not do any new test with 4x4.
I guess that the game has problems to handle all the items it instantly creates for the 5x5 harvest (24+ fruits plus up to 24 seeds), maybe the sprinkler also affects the performance of the item generation.
I experienced other item problems lately, too, eg I dropped my bug net to place a chest to empty my inventory and after a few seconds the bug net was gone. (Maybe my Embertail buried it or the bug net slid under the chest I placed ...)
I removed a couple of stationary drills and I lost a drill and some wires ...
Two of my Tin Boulders vanished (probably exhausted) and they took all the mined tin ore lying around with them ... only the drills were there when i checked them ...
Only started after the update at around 4 AM.
Also, I surrounded all those spawners by another wall about 3 spaces away from the spawner walls.. so far seems to have them contained but will keep an eye on it. Interestingly, I found a purple slime inside of a building that was nowhere near the spawners. The doors were closed so there is no logical reason it would be in there unless for some reason the doors are being ignored or the spawning tile x/y is somehow not being translated from the spawning object correctly.. perhaps spawning in a different chunk maybe?
Also, of note.. I had all 4 NPC vendors inside of 1 house prior to the update.. after the update 3 of them were wandering around outside.. would not pop back into the house even when breaking/replacing their objects. I had to break/replace their beds for it to work.
Hope this information is helpful to the devs or at least other players.
Been feeling like another playthrough of this game, but I might wait until there are some more bug fixes first.

I did have to shut down the game though because even that extra wall surrounding those spawners failed to contain the mobs lol. Had those robots with the shields dueling one of those fire butterfly things outside of the spawner cages.. walked right into the middle of it when I went around the corner.
Am now fully convinced that the changes that were made may have made the walls invisible to the mobs when they are not within your immediate view distance... would have to test again but with a spawner setup surrounded by water 100% to see if they still wind up outside of the spawner.. which would indicate that the spawn location tile does not match the tile that gets called to spawn the mob.
I am sure others have reported these and possible other bugs.. any major change to systems can have unintended side effects.. and I am confident the dev will put in a hotfix quickly.. within a day or two if the bug(s) are identified within the code.
I'll just take a break and play some Cryofall or Necesse or World of Little Legends in the meantime ;)
Is this the infamous item bug or did they change how boulders work???
I was busy building railway tracks all over the map today and noticed that most of my boulders performed worse today, yielding only a few ore where in the past days hundreds of ore lay on the ground ...
Do you now have to build a complete automated storage system for boulders with conveyor belt and Robot Arm (requires Scarlet Bars) to prevent the ore on the ground from despawning?
