I somehow got a Giant Crystal Snail into my inventory.

I've somehow picked up a crystal snail as an item.

I was attempting to move a giant crystal snail to my base with conveyor belts. It was actually working really well and I was able to move it beyond Ghorm's ring.
Until it got stuck on a wall.
I attempted to move it off the wall but was unsuccessful. I gave it a single whack with the pick axe and it teleported into the nearby water and died. It left behind the usual drops and a crystal snail item. I have not been able to place it anywhere however.

Any ideas on how to place it?

You sure it's not a gem snail? A small critter that can both be found naturally and can be dropped from crystal snails? (personally can't check your shared file steam gives me some error)

Oh weird on the screenshot.
Yeah, I am sure. Its name is Blue and just says Crystal Snail and that it is immune to being slowed by slime and immune to acid damage

Yeah that one worked and weird never seen that before, not on the wiki either as a drop from the snail either. Does it work as a pet or anything like that? I got no clue on it personally.

I almost wonder if every entity in the game has some inventory item form that's not used.

That's kind of what I was thinking. No I haven't been able to place it or interact with it in any way.
