Breeding animals is working?

I have been trying to breed different types of animals and none of them have breed yet , I have tried to create many different types of enclosures , even trying to create a "copy" of their natural biomes and nothing , idk exactly what are the conditions to fullfill to breed animals but nothing seems to work. theres no other info out there than "you need 2 animals of the same species, feeded and close to eachother" but what else? just that? how close? do I have to name them or not? put them on a leash or not? how long will it take?

It works. It takes a while though. I don't now exactly how long. I suggest satisfying the requirements and leaving to do other things.

The only requirements are two animals of the same kind (you cannot breed cows and sheep for example) in the same pin together and both need to be as happy as possible.

Animal happiness is based on how full they are. So all you really need to do is make sure they have enough food to eat and you're good.
