how do you make or find copper keys?

There is a workbench specifically for making keys made at the basic workbench if I recall correctly. You can also sometimes get them as drops from enemies within early biomes.

Many ways to obtain:
1) Crafted at the Key Casting Table *obtained from the Iron Workbench so not recommended early game*.
2) Fished from water within the dirt biome.
3) Dropped by the starting slimes *orange and red*.
4) Found inside some unlocked chests within the biome, maybe in others too.

I suggest trying number 2 through 4 first and key casting if you can't find them within reasonable timescale.

i have a water hole outside the newb place and i put walls around it and just sit there and fish them out lol
