So much ... crap!
I really like this game. I've only had it a short time and have almost 400 hours into it. My family bought their own copies, too. But I'm having a serious issue with something ... there is soooo much crap! So many "valuables." Sure, I can dump them, but I spend a lot of time doing that so that I can hold other things I need/want. I built automated organizing systems, which work great for ore, ingots, walls, etc., but the valuables are driving me nuts! Reminds me a lot of Terraria. Loved that game too. Then it was all about tons and tons of crap. Gave up on it long ago.

I really don't want to spend so much time trying to organize or deleting items. At the moment I can't stand the thought of playing anymore because of this. It's making me kinda sad! lol Any ideas?

Note: I'm aware they can be sold. But I have soooo much "money" (currently 30 chests full) I have no need for anything more.

I've got a band aid, but not a solution.

I have a world with several chests, a campfire and nothing else, when my bags get full I load into that world and drop everything off. Load back to my main world, carry on exploring and then go pick everything up and sort it out when I'm done.

It only takes 4 big chests to store every valuable in game and I'm yet to get a full stack of any of them (or set up a display for them for that matter).

I am a hoarder though, so I don't junk anything but seeds. :partygoblin:

I started to jump back into my play through the other night.
Opened my inventory and took one look at all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I had to sort and backed out and quit...

In other words...I agree.

Kind of a problem of the genre.

Survival games tend to have a lot of "crap". Can't think of any I've played where there isn't a lot to sort through.

Bought the game, but only played a few minutes (waiting for end of early access)

Couldnt this problem be solved by some sort of a loot filter? (with the addiotnal option of harvested blocks not going into your inventory)

Yes, the number of items is kind of excessive, but that isn't the real problem in my opinion. Like Terraria, which has hundreds of items, my hardest part with all of them was managing them. Looking through dozens of chests of items is anti-fun. It makes me not want to play the game. The best thing that ever happened to Terraria was the Magic Storage Mod (https://terrariamods.fandom.com/wiki/Magic_Storage) which rescued my desire to play the game.

Devs, please make storage and item management something like Terraria's Magic Storage Mod. And please allow for item filters, whether they just don't get picked up at all, or we can auto-trash items that we do pick up. These two features will boost retention, I promise.

I wish some game have a one master chest 2 put everything inside and don't care about out of space

There's already a button to quick stack items that are already in the chest you're looking at, I just wish the button would work in proximity like terraria, then we could just run past a couple of chests real quick while spamming the button.

Unless you are planning on putting them on a pedestal and showcasing them, there's no reason to be holding more than 2 or 3 of them. Make a viewing room, place them down, and sell everything you have no further interest in. You could always spend a lot of that money getting a massive stack of crit drinks and/or speed drinks from the vending machine.

This or some equivalent to Minecraft's Applied Energistics 2[appliedenergistics.org] mod would be amazing.

Storage Systems: AE2 revolutionizes storage in Minecraft. The mod adds a network-based digital storage system, where items and blocks are stored as energy in a digital form within a network of connected devices. This allows for compact storage solutions and easy access to your items.

Auto-Crafting: Another significant feature of AE2 is its automatic crafting capabilities. Players can set up patterns and recipes which the system can automatically craft on demand. This greatly streamlines bulk and complex crafting processes, saving time and effort.

Networking and Channels: AE2 adds a whole new level of strategy to your Minecraft builds with its networking and channel system. Devices connected to the same network can communicate and interact with each other, and the channel system limits the number of devices that can be connected to a single cable, adding a layer of planning and organization to your builds.

Spatial Storage: This feature allows players to store entire regions of space within a spatial storage cell. Essentially, you can take a chunk of the world, including all blocks, items, and entities within, and store it digitally to be released later.

100% agree

Have been playing about 200 hours (though half of that was prob AFK'ing). This is the one thing right now that I really find tedious about the game.

Quick stack to nearby chests is an absolute no brainer. But also a way to properly automate item sorting is needed.

Mid to late game there should be some more automation options that open this up as a possibility.

Yeah it makes playing with a controller EXTREMELY tedious compared to M&K. Inventory management is just a nightmare on controller. I would just delete all valuables from game and drop currency in lieu to ease the burden of playing on controller. PLEASE!!! and thank you.

"valuables" throw them away, or leave them were u found em for "auto" deletion. That's what i do when my coin chests are even 1/4th full, not worth the effort to sell them

They aren't auto deleted. They are still bobbing around where you left them.
