Report a translation problem
The room needs a bed, a door, the spawn item, and shouldn't be too big or small. I recommend a 5x5 room. I believe 4x4 is the minimum and 8x8 is the maximum.
If none of this works, try leaving the area for a little bit and when you come back they should be there.
If you're the only person to have ever played in this world, following the above should yield positive results. I, unfortunately, once spent an entire day wondering why I couldn't get my merchant to reappear after I moved their room....only to then find out later that a friend also fought the boss and put the merchant idol down in their base, on the opposite side of the map....so the merchant was over there instead. Had to travel over there and put their idol in a box somewhere to get him to pop back over to my place. XD
