Trash Can Needed! Please Devs!

As a controller user, with 600+ hours playtime since the demo, I can safely say that my least favourite part of this game is having to trash 90% of my inventory every 5 minutes because it's been filled up with seeds and other junk that I just don't need.

Deleting one thing at a time is so tedious, and moving the cursor around the inventory on controller is not as fast as on mouse and keyboard. While I could switch to using M&K, I much prefer lying in bed with a controller in my hand and relaxing while I play. I'd happily keep a trash can in my inventory (as I do with an upgrade bench), and just place it down when I wanted to mass-delete things I put into it with the click of a "Delete all" button.

Since there's no option to clear worlds of the thousands of random floating items in explored areas, that don't despawn, please at least give us a more practical way to keep the Core tidy! ^_^

So you dont need a trash can, because there is one already. What you need is a controller shortcut to add to trash and then dispose of trash.

I use a Dualsense controller myself, never ever tried using M+KB in Core Keeper.

I've mapped 'quick trash' to the select/share button.

But if I could fill a box full of stuff on the go, then hit delete all at the top of the box...it would save the need to do them one at a time! :(

I'm just now learning about binding stuff to trash it quickly, though! Will definitely look into it.

Just checked which option you'll be looking for Patches.

It's in Settings>Controls and called 'Trash Selected Item'. I've mapped it to 'create' apparently - the left button with 3 lines arranged in a fan shape.

Other useful mappings I've changed are quick torch to right stick button press and also transfer existing to storage on the same button, then the left stick press to sort inventory.

There's likely a couple other 'overlaps/double mappings' you can use too, can't remember off hand.
