They really need to take a note out of Terraria's book and make exploration feel rewarding rather than tedious and unfun.
I think once you buy the rune scroll it should mark the locations on your map for where to go, or give it a quest which i think would be much more satisfying.
The challenge should come from the dungeon you go through to acquire the item, rather than how long you can last before getting extremely bored of monotonously mining through multiple biomes.
also the maze can be in the stone biome. hope this helps
Keep going, you'll find the maze and temple eventually. If you're not having fun searching for them, do something else. The whole process of searching will increase your skills and give you lots of other useful items that you'll need later.
It's a legendary item, it's not supposed to be easy to get. If you think this is hard, wait until you try to get the pieces for the bow!
There's lots of easy rewards in the game. there should also be some that are more challenging to acquire - the effort put in to get it makes it more satisfying when you finally do get it.
There should be some in game hints so people don't have to look up a guide, I agree with that
tho the titan timple at 900 is a ♥♥♥♥♥ to find as it spawns inside of a rock with only a small part outside of it, truth it look tight, but its not really all that good
As for the chat command mod, I didn't even know that was a thing... and yes I've started considering just making a new world....
Again, thanks for the feedback! :)
I guess I was lucky because I found the temple and maze without too much trouble and got the Rune Song not long after breaking through the wall and exploring Azeos. At that point it's still quite useful. Getting the bow seems like it will be much harder because I have to find 4 places in a much bigger biome.
I would disagree that Rune Song isn't worth the effort. Having an infinite durability weapon that is fast, does decent damage and heals each hit is quite nice when going back to earlier biomes and 1 shotting everything. I can explore for longer without having to worry about weapons breaking and having to return to base for repairs.
But yeah the other special effect of percentage chance to insta-kill a monster with less HP than you is not great. They could redesign that, hopefully. My character has 700hp so it's a small chance of saving me one extra swing? Meh
