Mushrooms killed my cows...

So I finally found two cows after 40 hours of playing. Spent the time trucking them back home on conveyors... saw that they ate wild mushrooms, and had a brilliant idea.

Made a field of mushroom tiles (that grow mushrooms), and fenced it in. They were happy, free food!

I come back after an expedition, and my cows are gone, and two piece of meat left behind, and a wandering mushroom critter.

Did that critter kill my cows ?!?! ....... grrrrr.

just farm bomb peppers, 100 peppers can easily feed your cows for a long time

Strolly polly though needs critters and you cant farm them yet CMIIW

Sorry, when I play games, I don't go read all the solutions to everything from wikis ahead of time, so the "blame me for not knowing" routine is lost here.

I just like to play and figure things out as I go. Sure there are moments of frustration, but live n learn is part of enjoying the game either way.

Also......... I didn't think those little mushroom guys were all that hostile to anything but the player. Since I never saw them attack other things out there LOL. Figured they would leave the cows alone.

Is there a way to create a self-sustained cattle farm without the mushroom tiles?

btw i also found out i can feed mu cattle with crops with the hint "xx wants to eat plants"

for the cows you can feed them crops ( atleast bomb peppers that i know of )
