It makes perfect sense to place one's "home" there.
I used to always build a mega base at the center of the world in Terraria before the 1.4 update, for the same reason that basing at Core is typical in Core Keeper right now. But with the introduction of pylons, it became both viable and desirable to build smaller bases in each biome right from the start. Now I build small towns themed around the biomes and my world feels much more lived in. It would be great to see a similar thing implemented in Core Keeper, probably once there are more NPCs so that you could build mini towns around them.
