Sounds a bit unfortunate, never had anything like happen myself. It should have spawned a chest like any other boss and also left a blue orb (the Soul) behind. Might be worth reporting it using the Bug Report Form - https://form.jotform.com/ck_support/Bug-Report.
You will have missed another NPC totem amongst some other cool loot that you might just need for one of the later achievements *wink*.
The good news is you can summon the boss again using the same method as the 1st time.
And is the 6th boss the coral reef one? From collecting sea shells?
You don't have to fight the bosses in a set order (other than the 3 inner bosses 1st then the outer bosses), you just need enough damage to get the job done which ofc. usually does mean fighting the bosses in order of toughness.
Anyway where does galactite ore spawn? I have found like 3-4 other biomes then azure and coral but not actually any ore (or wall that can be mined but i just had iron pickaxe then)
I'm not a fan Galaxite armour's stats so I skipped it completely and used a full set of Omoroth's for the Desert where galaxite ore is found.
You should be fine to fight Omoroth before going for galaxite, just make sure your damage output is as high as you can get it in your current tier - too low damage is the no.1 reason folks struggle on that boss. Don't be afraid to test out different armour/weapon/accessories on an easier boss 1st - no shame is checking damage numbers and kill speed before going for the tough fights.
And don't forget to buff up like crazy... lots of nom noms and potions etc.
Fight it enough times and you end up with a full set of pretty sweet armour.
When that happens the chest should break on the spot, so chances are you did get the loot but it got gathered in your inventory before you saw it.
If it is indeed a bug I'll go check and test myself, as it's the first time I'm hearing of no loot appearing
Do i really need a boat to get to him or can i just build bridges?
Or is a boat required for the boss fight?
Technically you don't need a boat, but it would require an awful lot of bridges to explore the Sunken Sea without one - like one heck of lot.
Besides a boat is extremely handy even in other biomes.
I use a boat for the Omoroth fight, but I have seen it done without one.
I highly recommend building yourself a boat.
also what are items with the tag [Valueables]?
You can always place a bridge while in your boat and then get out for a moment to mine things nearby. I noticed trying to mine while in a boat causes some strange, buggy behavior. But overall it works.
Items with the valuable tag sell for money to a merchant and don't have any other use (Could put them on a pedestal to decorate). But you have to either find a merchant or get their special item and summon them in a suitable room at your base.
Only found one from first boss i killed but he is still lurking someone there in the 1st boss slime pit...
