Leash range for lava slime boss super short?

The Leash radius for this boss is like less than half a screen, whats with that? Is there any reason for this?

I've made a post about igneous, but essentially it's aggro range is dumbass small. In order to deal consistent damage and keep it agroed, use a weapon like the chackram or the phantom spark to be able to constently hit it. Don't break off to far and keep a good pace and you should be able to clear it without to much trouble

I see, so it needs glasses but its max leash range is actually the size of the arena.

no no, you were right, the range is dumbass small, but you can keep the agro by hitting it

oh... sad... i saw so many videos with the whole arena as leash range, why did they change that...

I'm not quite sure if there ever was a change, but if you don't attack it and stay away it'll naturally disengage. Either it's a mistake or a move to force players to constently deal damage while interacting with the arena.

Pretty sure the reason for this is so that you don't use the slime boss to clear a huge area, since he's basically one giant wrecking ball.

Actually makes sense, but it's still kind of a pain.

I mean at least make him reach within 3 - 5 blocks of the edge. I found poison talent helps a lot keep the boss in combat.
