Weapon was Phantom Spark, but Scholar's Staff is also a good choice.
With running perks "Balanced Stance" and "On Your Toes", it was manageable. For large parts of the fight, I was standing in place, pelting Omoroth until it moved, then repeat. Dodge kicked in consistently. For the tentacles, I would find a place in between, out of striking distance. Later in the fight, that is harder to do. I gave up trying to kill tentacles, went with shake and bake or out of reach instead.
Ra-Akar gave me a good thrashing. Barely made it out alive.
I also agree that Ra-Akar is much more difficult than Omoroth; those tracking projectiles are no joke and necessitated a specialized gear loadout to deal with, whereas I fought Omoroth with what I had already been wearing.
All you need is your best dps gear and preferably a good ranged weapon (plus food etc.). To dodge the homing orbs don't try and out run them, pull them away from Ra-Akar and then do a little circle around them, they can't turn sharply enough to hit you - takes a little practice ofc.
(when it turns red) there are so many tentacles that I cant move anywhere because of how many there are. Its ridiculous. I use a LOT of food, have the better healing potions and it still isnt enough. If the boss gets stronger because you have another player with you that might be part of my problem. I play with my wife and she.... dies about every 30 seconds. I at least make it to the red portion of the fight no problem, but by then the stage is full.
With full Galaxite you've got a lot of crit damage - what's your crit chance % looking like? Might be worth swapping a few items for damage % and/or crit chance etc. I assume you're using a ranged weapon? Have a quick look at the armour, weapons and accessories sections on https://corekeeper.wikizet.com/en/Core_Keeper_Wiki to see if anything easy to get takes your fancy.
Also what level are your skills? On the low side or mid 70-80s? Might be worth trying to up ranged and vitality a bit at least (horrid grind I know).
Damage is king - the higher you can push it usually the better off you'll be - even at the sacrifice of survival stats (Dodge is fun when high enough, but takes ages to kill anything).
Edit: And reinforce everything if you aren't already. Ooh Carrock and Puffungi food (or better) and Guardian pots will help with survival too.
Omoroth is NOT a hard boss fight even on the hardest difficulty setting. So no, he doesn't need a nerf beyond what was already nerfed on him to begin with. You just need to get better at the game or find friends to play with.
If you are still struggling to kill them, max out your gardening skills to get the golden plants upgrades. The Puffungi, carrock, pewpaya, and pinegrapple have the best boosting effects especially their golden form.
Next is hunt for the runesong and phantom spark. They will allow to not need repairing them while doing nice base dmg.
Use this site to find their parts potential locations out of your map file.
