SUGGESTION: Fish Farming
So, seeing how hard it is to do this in the game, I came up with this idea, based on real world practices.

This is how it would work. The player could dig their own pond and fill it with the various types of water by using buckets or another container (bottles? barrels?) to move the resource from one location to another. This could also work out later to allow those types of water to be used as ingredients in potions and so forth, or to extract other ingredients from that water.

Once the pond was made, fishing could be done as usual. But instead of just eating the fish, they would be brought to the pond and released in order to breed those fish in the new location. Fish would be given male and female traits, so at least one of each would need to be caught to breed. It would take a small amount of time for them to begin appearing afterwards. There might be a requirement to create an enclosure in the pond to make it work, and to make harvesting easier (round ones seem to be the norm):

After the fish begin to breed (either in the pond or enclosure) the player could do one of two things:

- if the entire pond is used, fishing can be done in that pond. New fishing spots would appear at set intervals. Adding more male/female combinations (up to a limit) would increase the rate. Adding things like water plants and insects to the pond would be needed to maintain the population.

- if an enclosure is required, the player would just have to wait for it to become 'full'. Feeding could (and most likely should) be required to maintain the population in the enclosure and keep it growing, just like any other farming concept.

Lastly, there could be special items that could be added to the pond or enclosure that would either speed breeding/appearance of fishing spots, give a chance of a rare fish, or other effects (An idea I had was a 'No Fishing!' that would make the fish breed more since they think it's safe. xD)

This would allow players who enjoy building and farming like this to add another aspect to their bases and farming endeavors, and also help with the current fishing setup, which, sad to say, is kind of rough atm. I enjoy doing it to a point, but having to run all over the place to find fishing spots can get a little annoying after a while, especially with the low number of fish per spot (so far, I've had anything from 2-4 fish per spot).
