Is there a faster way to harvest and replant this than one at a time?

Once you get the iron hoe (snrk!) you can do four sections at a time.

As GG said, once you get a better hoe harvesting is quicker (upto 3x3). Re-planting, however, is still a one by one affair. Top tip is to eat some +move speed noms before you start - the faster you move the faster you re-plant.

Oh wow, I did not realize the r-click also harvested crops. This will save bunches of time, thanks.

Same. Would be nice if this was added to the hoe description, it only says it can prepare the land for planting, not that it can be used to harvest plants.

There is a mod that let's you change the placement size of stuff that can let you plant like 5x5+ and speeds up the planting process a lot if you don't mind QoL mod stuff. Not sure why there isn't a way to plant faster than 1 seed at a time or to just automate planting in the core game yet though.

and when you're at that stage, you only really use golden ones, making it is completely useless. I can't believe they still have not fixed that

Uh, I've gotten copious amounts of golden plants and I exclusively plant with a Trowel. Octarine one, 4x4 zone, and I've got golden plants all over my farms from it.
