Super Farms?
I am thinking of doing more farm land and making them into 21x21 plots? Basically pick once a few days and done farm. With sprinklers now this isn't a big deal.

What is your farm situation look like? Would long long long strips work better?

Sprinklers use a 5x5 pattern to keep the outer 24 squares watered. Just keep this in mind when planning. I have 8 5x5 plots around a cooking / potion making area. Works great. Get a farmer hat and 2 rings from Azeous wilderness to increase harvest. Have fun with it!

Yup got hat and rings too.

I just had a strange idea. I might start a new map, not kill Ghorm so he runs around and replace the red slime spawns with purple and blue and some mold and berries. Then just hang out somewhere and come back 20 minutes later to pick up goodies - no effort required.

I thought of this after going on a other map and seeing Ghorm had killed everything many times. I have at least 3 stacks of slime alone from just taking a circuit plus gems and all other stuffs.

Edit: I think all the stuff was from where the biomes met and they monsters were killing each other off but man there was a lot of action going on. I got about 6 stacks of red slime alone, more muskets and firestaffs then i know what to do with (store them lol).

I think I might just put some stuff around the path and check it so often and see what happens.

Until sprinklers get their performance fixed, manual watering is king. Watering is such a tiny part of the process that sprinklers barely help, anyway.

I do massive 6-wide stretches of land, with rivers and torches in between. It's just wide enough for torches to light it, you can run down 2x2 with the watering can, 3x3 with the scarlet hoe, and 1. by. one... planting by hand.

I have about 100+ roughly of each plant rn with my hat and 2 rings and my perks for golden stuff. I haven't farmed in a long time because I have chests mostly full of ingredients plus hundreds of meals ready. But I am collecting seeds for a massive new operation.

Potentially in the green lush biome and teleport to it. (I am drawing a huge blank for that biome) It might fit in nice by my campground.

Here's a sample of my farm layout. It takes over 20k crops to hit max level, so it'll take many hours of dedicated planting. Cooking needs even more crops, so make life easier with any items that boost harvesting yield.

I have 6 5x5 garden plots at my other bases with portals near boss spawns. It's rewarding making more bases with different styles elsewhere (to stave off boredom).

What's wrong with the sprinklers? They keep the ground wet and I only need a watering can to kick off a root seed. Do they not work for you? My only annoyance is accidentally picking them up while harvesting. I'd love a scythe tool that can only damage vegetation. Would also be cool to get an auto-seeder object in the next update.

Fav recipes for bosses.
Carrock + Puffungi = Armor & boss defence
Pewpaya + Hive Meat = Range damage & crit chance

Exploration.
Glow Tulip + Bomb Pepper = Glow & move speed
2x Bloat Oat = Just for food bar

Yea I have a couple bases but not all with gardens. I do have portal/prep homes by bosses for fights/farming. Couple beds, lots of good rare foods, a couple wands and muskets for people if needed - really like them a lot. I live in a reclaimed forlorn city. portals are my bff - i think i have about 15 or so.

I got somewhat fancy with mine

One of the pieces is sand at the moment, but I'll swap it over when the next biome comes.

This is my farm rn. About 100-120ish of each crop plus a little wood farm also. Next Forlorn city project is "The Dangerzone of Death!". I am going to put berries on every part of ground and test my might lol

I really love farming and cooking in this game so I made a dedicated Farm World. My goal is to eventually be able to plant and harvest a stack (999) of each crop in the game. The layout is one long 3X333 strip of tilled soil for each crop and I add seeds to the strips as I find them in my other worlds.

The most fun I've had playing so far has been gathering all the dirt required from the caves and sunken sea, getting all the seeds I could along the way. Its far from complete but harvesting enough crops to make hundreds of cooked food items has been really satisfying.

What is the block in your second slot from the left? I can't decipher it. That isn't wall from a forlorn city is it? Yea, I looked and I can't find one like that. It's probably something I am overlooking but the curiosity is killing me.

Yes! That is the metropolis walls, I'm currently attempting to completely clear out one of those mega cities to build some kind of base out in the sunken sea although I'm not sure what yet. Maybe a mob farm or a sweet garden. At my current mining level (74) and with food and equipment buffs, it takes me like an hour to get that much.

I considered just holding off on breaking the walls until the next biome update in hopes that there will be a better pickaxe but I've already got it about halfway done so I'm just going to continue working on and hopefully finish clearing it by the end of the weekend.

What gear to break those down? I need pretty high mining then or the purple pickaxe? I have a base in a reclaimed city rn and I really love it. Cleared it out and moved in. Lots of storage, have my NPCs in-house, rooms for everything. I love it. Just be ready to go around and do tentacle clearing outside.

Yes, I use the Octarine Pickaxe (the purple one) and for my gear I use:
Larva Helm
Larva Chest
Caveling Pants
Orb Lantern
Topaz Ring X2
Azeos Beak Necklace

With my 74 levels of mining, that puts my mining skill at 1148 mining which is enough to break city walls

As for food I just made one that has +mining and +glow

Hope that helps!

Thank you very much! It is super helpful! After I finish setting up the nearing 20 drill locations on another map to run I am going to give it a go.
