Workshop support?
This is the kind of game where I'd love to see support for user-creator mods, like in Terraria and Starbound. Different races, furnishings and decorations, even new biomes! Please consider adding Steam Workshop support as I think it would be a perfect match, thank you!

I love how you throw starbound in there as if starbound wasn't a failure of a game from the corrupted development team to the finished product that ended up becoming abandonware with content fuelled by the modding community.

But that aside, yeah modded support is an amazing idea when the game gets up off the ground more. Lets just hope no one mods in actual cheats too much when/if it does happen.

I dunno man I just really enjoyed the Starbound mods. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ They're a great example of how creative folks can get with them.

They had to be creative because of how scummy the team working on starbound was, a majority of the content is either inspired by modders, created for free under "internships" or straight up mods turned into game content.

The reason Its a joke to include starbound is because for chucklefish making starbound abandonware and just letting people do what they want with it was the swansong of the game, and also them realising that the way they handled the production of it really went poorly.

The mods are so good because people WANTED starbound to be great myself included, so they had to make starbound great themselves. But it will never change the fact that it is an abandonware game with a rotten development cycle.

Lets just hope this game can be great on its own terms first and doesn't need to use workshop as a crutch like starbound devs did.

Because Ultimately a game that can stand up on its own content alone before modding is a sign the modding community will be quality.

Edit: and before you go "oh so workshop stuff is a crutch huh!?" I know 99% of people have no common sense so I'll clarify with starbound used it as a crutch because they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up handling the game. Workshop content itself is amazing when included in most games.

I like how you had a legitimate suggestion then a Starbound troll totally derailed. Wow, I followed Starbound development but couldn't understand the hate it got. Also not the point of this thread ... I think workshop support is a great idea.

HammyBread: Get a life dude, your edit is hysterical. Like, literally hysterical, idk how you're in hysterics over this.

I do remember hearing how bad of a company Chucklefish was/is. I'm genuinely sorry to hear that your experience with Starbound was bad, Hammy. Seems like you had very high hopes for it. I only started playing it a couple years ago so I only know the game in its modded state.

It's alright, though. Hopefully Core Keeper won't meet a similar fate. But yeah, back on topic, please let us be able to use mods, devs!

Excuse me, but this is about Core Keeper having support for Steam Workshop—not Starbound (which OP only used as an example) and Chucklefish's scummy practices.

Please stay on topic because I'm curious about rather this game will have workshop support or not as well.

The COMMUNITY is a great example of how creative folks can get. Not the devs. Starbound was trash.

That's why I said "folks" and not "devs". I know it was all community made. I was saying I'd like to see what the community can come up with regarding this game as well.

just my thoughts on mod support in the games current state . With the game being in EA, mods are likely to get broken often when new stuff/fixes happen . if /when modding support gets added I'd rather the game be more feature complete / balanced first to make things easier on Modders and the folk that use the Mods themselves .

To be fair , I never tried making mods so I have no idea how much work goes into them . I'm just assuming that it is easier to make and maintain them when the game itself in in a more stable state ( fewer changes that need to be accounted for and such ) .

That said, Mods can definitely enhance game play when handle well and I'm not against Support for them :D

Also a question ; Is modding easier/more difficult depend on the game ?

just curious, since I Would think the more complex the games code the harder it is to make Mods for it .

Hope I didn't stray too far from the topic :heart_eyes_yeti:

Yea, I agree. I know there are at least two major updates (biomes) still to come but I would like to see it opened up. Would allow us to mix in and out new content as players create it to keep it from being stale. Im at the point now where im just bored. Killed all the bosses. Farmed several and bad luck on drops but im not just going to play to just kill a single boss over and over. I imagine this game getting a ton of cool things like users created for Ark. Imagine all the new items, skills, bosses, etc that can be added...

Workshop support would be cool but I would say it would be cooler after the devs implement their major intended stuff.

And when it comes to the Starbound stuff, it's nothing close to being considered "Abandonware"

Game literally came out in Early Access with nothing to do but go to planets and mine materials to build up your character meanwhile they talked about adding a new playable race alongside making the different race's ships more unique to each of them and add a story and new items.

They literally did all that and had an official 1.0 out of Early Access launch.

Game was abandoned as much as say a CoD or Halo game was.

And for the talk of the dev company being ♥♥♥♥♥♥, every game company is in one way or another, Blizzard did all this bad crap yet Overwatch one of the top streamed games this week.

Rant over, back to Core Keeper.

No doubt man. But to be honest, this is 99% of ALL modern games. Devs only try to get quick cash and bail. At least this game is cheap. I refused to pay 60 for a game every again because of how bad all the "AAA companies" are. Division 2 and Outriders were the final straws for me. All the promises in the world and basically crapped on players. This with the obvious EA and Blizzard being shady as all hell for over a decade now.
