Golden chests and valuables
A dungeon without golden chests? Seems weird, man.

To be honest I've been playing for about 15 hours now and I really enjoy the game so far. It feels like it has so much potential, maybe even become the "Terraria killer"? However, the bummer for me is the realization that most of the "valuables" are in fact... not that valuable at all? You can't equip them or place them as a cosmetic, the only thing you can do is just sell them to a merchant. Now the second issue comes - the merchants don't have almost anything of value either. At the point where I have unlocked the Caveling Merchant, I already had the musket and plenty of other resources I don't need anymore, except maybe the scroll, which you can't obviously get any other way.

My suggestion is to make merchants sell items which are otherwise not possible to get by grinding. The concept of a "valuable" should be supported by a reasonable offer from the merchants, otherwise the "valuables" are actually less valuable than the ore or mechanical gears you could find as long as they are the final product of the transaction. So, maybe some equitable objects could be added to the merchants items pool. I'll leave just a few examples:

- magic shoes that let you walk on water,
- some glowing armor that increases your visibility similar to the lantern
- items that increase your xp gain modifier
- pickaxe with a 3 tile aoe
- shoes that makes you immune to acid,
- a wand that spawns friendly slimes with a long cooldown
- spike/fire boots that remove the slimy ground
- boots that let you jump across 1 or 2 tiles
- new weapons? - lance, axe, spears etc.

As far as I can imagine, a lot of people, including myself enjoys the building part of the game, so maybe the merchants could also sell furniture items - chairs, pots, plants, etc. etc. There might be even a separate merchant for that sort of items.

Now an alternative suggestion would be - golden chests. I think it would be really nice and rewarding to have some micro-biomes - like those where you find the small crates - with stronger enemies (maybe just a big spawn of them) and some rewards at the end, again some magical items like the above-mentioned ones. Either way would make the grind and exploration more rewarding, however, giving those items to the merchants would seem to make more sense in my opinion as it would fix the economy system a little. Maybe a different pool of items can be added for the golden chests.
Other than that the game is really fun and I hope the devs will keep up the good work!

the point of the valuables is to sell them to the merchnats and to buy the boss summon items. and then you kill the bosses over and over again to get their rare loot. ig the rarest loot is their statue.
note im just saying how its intendet to be played atm. i dont say its good or bad and i dont say your ideas are good or bad

Oh, I didn't know that bosses have varying drops. Thanks for the info, will try that. Still, I think there could be more purchasable items.
