It was a duping glitch that has been fixed. Problem is people abused it obviously before patch and have insane HP pools and that is before we have the streamer simps spam creating new worlds to give them free mushrooms. To make it fair across the board it should be retroactive for all duped items if possible. If not, then just limit the hp. There is obviously a base HP value everyone has is the same depending on level and then only 2 permanent hp boost foods so add those in and be done with it. Everyone at max vitality and both foods should have the same hp with no gear on. Right now, we have obviously very different levels due to duping and simps.
If you are spamming new worlds for yourself to get 25-50 hp a world then more power to you but that shows a massive flaw in the game design. New worlds should not be promoted in this fashion IMO. Especially for resources.
EDIT: And sorry, i just read what the OP said... lol heart pounding over a raid... this is core keeper, not some top 5 world WoW guild lol.
Side note.... some sort of dungeons feature would be cool that can be reset. Possibly some sort of teleport to a small tile with traps, mazes, mobs, and ending with a boss and some nice loot. Hope this gets added honestly.
Damn right they are... if you play with folks cheesing the game and don't like it - talk to them about it or don't play with them.
I have to agree. I think it comes down to the user experience, and how more experienced players interact with new players. If you have the ability to not die/1-shot enemies, complete the game very quickly, it does kind of deflate the joy or intrigue of the game for new players.
I do think players should have the freedom to "max out" their characters, but some parameters would be good, especially in multiplayer modes. Does that make sense?
Here's an example. I played the game for about 30 hours, had completed most of the game, but I like to take my time, go at a very slow pace. I had a community member come "help with a boss" fight, to find that he was able to 1-shot the boss, and take out adds with a lot of health. While I was appreciative to get the fight done and the person was very helpful/friendly, I found it a bit anti-climatic to jet through the boss so fast, given that I was spending so much time preparing to fight it.
Now, I'm all for the user experience and having a super OP character is the best ngl, but I think players should also be able to know just how strong they are and exploits will likely need to be adjusted once the full-game is released.
If you have spammed over 1000 new worlds and got the 2-3 hp foods from each then more power to you but you still arent the person he is talking about. He is talking about the ones who duped items and have thousands and thousands of the hp foods walking around with 200k hp. It wasnt grinding new worlds, it was duping items over and over in less time than it takes you to load in a new map let alone find the items, delete that world, rinse and repeat.
I mean with perfect luck its only 125 added hp per map right? 75 and 25 (chance of getting 2).
As I do agree with this and that is also why I prefer to play solo, they are pushing more multiplayer by doing the dedicated servers and stuff implying they want people to play together. If this is left alone and they add in new content that is better with more people then this will just break the game. Cheats only work in solo from what I have read about the trainers. It breaks if you have another in the game. I looked into these because I saw a video of a streamer with over 5k hp and was trying for the life of me to figure out how they got that high. So it might not be so easy to just talk to them after they already ran around and one shot everything leaving you there like well thats not fun. Especially if they add some sort of raid type mechanic with higher reset timers or very high summon costs. Can completely ruin it for you. I still wish this was entirely single player with tons of options to challenge yourself in the way you want to. As soon as multiplayer becomes a thing in anyway, people who break the game with bugs and then its never corrected, it ruins the experience of playing. Just my opinion.
I was drawn to the game because of it's multiplayer (it's cool to mine together, see each other's worlds, etc.). But I agree something about the duping items thing--I dunno.
Make it a competitive game, not a sandbox like the literally dozens of other games that try to play the Minecraft/Stardew card. Cap the max HP, and punish the players that abused the system. People know exactly what they're doing when they break into game's memory.
Like some of the folks above have stated, it's a multiplayer game. If you respect the player-base's time (for those that don't cheat), these problems must be addressed or there's no chance of retaining honest, competitive players.
Good point and agreed. Many status effects, and any instant-kill (or other life-reducing effects based on %) should not apply to bosses.
2) Not sure I understand how it impacts your gameplay
1) then this needs to be fixed
2) multiplayer is being pushed and encouraged thus impacting everyone who doesnt want someone running around with "cheats" one shotting bosses and making everything trivial
1. Doesn't need to be fixed. People can play how they want.
2. Play with only your friends if you don't want to be impacted. Ez Pz.
