Make Big-Ores so they have Infinite Resources.
Please make it so The Big Ores on the Map where you need a drill to have unlimited resources.. I build a massive automation system just to come back to it finding the Big Ores gone after like 2 hours.. Just wasted all the Time and Materials cause the Stones are gone..
Actually closed the Game after that cause of frustration.

I understand its not realistic to have it unlimited but its a Game it doesnt need to be realistic in that aspect..

hope you change that thank you.

The options for big ore thing is a great option. I've been wanting more options for the game in general anyway.

If that's not the maker's style though, I'd say make it so that it gives a whole buttload for a while but slowly diminish to a low but reasonable yield that never ends. Maybe the large ore sprite could even change! :0

Which is quite tedious to say the least, really draining the fun.
They're not infinite, but they give somewhere around 1700 ore. Even with 8 drills it'll take like 8-12 hours to deplete a boulder.
Last time I played it was like 450.

A bug that made extra miners delete ore was fixed, plus deposits were also buffed. Dunno if the old spawns have the buff, but the fix should make all deposits give a lot more.

Yep. They were bugged originally. The developers fixed the drill issue and doubled the amount of ore in boulders with the Sunken Sea Patch.

  • Doubled the amount of ores in Ore Boulders making them last for twice as long.
  • Ore Boulders no longer give less total amount of ores before depleting when drilling with more than one drill.

Jesus Chrysler, so they finally started to notice what game's real problems are.
Quite stunning.

Yeah i've been getting roughly 1800 ore from my big rocks. Also i've found copper all the way 1800 blocks away from the Core in Azeos's Wilderness. So chances are there's technically no way you'll run out.

Maybe it could be like a tool that you get that replenishes them with a charge cycle like the portal, it could be charged by the core so it basically magic

I tried this mod in the hopes of just needing to set up 1 operation per ore, but it seems to not currently be working (for me at least)

Seems like just about every resource is renewable? Except for natural map tiles, I guess.
but you are aware that some people don't want to hunt for 3 hours straight to get a reasonable amount of ores once the big ores are inevitably depleted, right?

This doesn't happen, because depleting a single (patched) vein means you have a very unreasonable amount of ores.

a lot of people like it as is, some don't, but there's no telling how many are on each side of the fence. so let the individual decide, then it puts this war to rest.

I disagree with this kind of ask, for any setting or toggle to change the base functionality of the survival game. What is being asked for is mods or cheat codes. it's not the same game anymore when you offer these game-breaking options. There is absolutely no problem with current ore schemes and repair/scrap scenarios (including from multiple fresh character starts & with multiplayers).

I don't believe the devs intend people to sit in their perch & automate *every* aspect of this game, just to watch those numbers climb and climb and then whoops- is it even the vision of a survival game anymore? No, not really, factory simulator 2022. To that I say, no thank you. This is the same crowd of folks that would continue to ask to 'automate' everything- map exploration, gardening, base building, ♥♥♥♥ you name it.

It's a single player game... whether or not someone wants to cheat, or not, has no bearing on anyone else's experience. And devs should know that not everyone will play the game the way they envisioned it, but despite that, the player can still love the game... This mindset that the devs intended a certain way to play/complete it and then applying a heavy hand to force them to do so is a good way to kill a game, especially over such a trivial function as a resource toggle/bar.

I haven't seen such elitism and division in a casual, yes casual, little indie title ever. Easiest solution is just give toggles on map creation at this point, let either side have what they want without worrying about the other
~Durability [on/off]
~Large Node Value [standard/infinite]
~Hunger Degradation [slow/standard/fast]
~XP Gain Rates [standard/varying levels of +%]
Stuff like that
Amen to this!

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
