the waste is the hundreds of metres of the assembly line i made so it all goes on one place where i collect and so on. not like its just the drills there.. if it were just the drills then yea i could just move it to another node but now i have to delete the complete assebly line i made lol
you know you can start a new world with the same char and farm ore for your old one right?
I disagree with this kind of ask, for any setting or toggle to change the base functionality of the survival game. What is being asked for is mods or cheat codes. it's not the same game anymore when you offer these game-breaking options. There is absolutely no problem with current ore schemes and repair/scrap scenarios (including from multiple fresh character starts & with multiplayers).
Not a specific call-out to you [Hammer Of Evil], but using this as my tirade / counter-position for the Devs to consider:
I don't believe the devs intend people to sit in their perch & automate *every* aspect of this game, just to watch those numbers climb and climb and then whoops- is it even the vision of a survival game anymore? No, not really, factory simulator 2022. To that I say, no thank you. This is the same crowd of folks that would continue to ask to 'automate' everything- map exploration, gardening, base building, ♥♥♥♥ you name it.
Build railways across the map to key areas, so that you can get to where you need to be, make a routine of checking your 'current' ore drill spots, build more railways to get to them, etc. - Does this mean maintaining a lot of Tin from Clay zone to support that strategy? Well yes it does, and it's amazing how much Tin you can get out of just 2 of those large ore.
Get to work, 'spelunk' regularly as this game intends. OR, go play an idle game that just lets you rack up the numbers, is my response to 'industrialist' type gamers. Factorio is pretty good this time of year, I hear.
Honestly? I disagree. I feel like some trust in the devs on how they tune their worlds, and the frustrations inside them, goes a long ways.
...except for the automation stuff. that stuff is broken. :P
Which is quite tedious to say the least, really draining the fun.
Seems like just about every resource is renewable? Except for natural map tiles, I guess.
They're not infinite, but they give somewhere around 1700 ore. Even with 8 drills it'll take like 8-12 hours to deplete a boulder.
A single boulder gives you enough ore that you're pretty much set. Mine two or more of the same time and you'll probably never have to mine anything ever again.
Even if you somehow deplete every single ore boulder on your map and still need more metal just take three boss crystals and whatever else you need to your new map and you're effectively right back to where you were.
I think they're fine as is, but I would like to have better ways to find them. Maybe they could add something like Terraria's spelunker potion or make the existing "ore distance" mining perk also cause boulders to glow in the dark.
