Make Big-Ores so they have Infinite Resources.
Please make it so The Big Ores on the Map where you need a drill to have unlimited resources.. I build a massive automation system just to come back to it finding the Big Ores gone after like 2 hours.. Just wasted all the Time and Materials cause the Stones are gone..
Actually closed the Game after that cause of frustration.

I understand its not realistic to have it unlimited but its a Game it doesnt need to be realistic in that aspect..

hope you change that thank you.

Just curious, how is it a waste of time and resources, if you in fact mined all the resources from the node? Just take all of that equipment and move on to another large node?

the waste is the hundreds of metres of the assembly line i made so it all goes on one place where i collect and so on. not like its just the drills there.. if it were just the drills then yea i could just move it to another node but now i have to delete the complete assebly line i made lol

Great idea. It kind of breaks the game to be completely unable to do anymore because all that can be accomplished in the game is.

Well, the problem is that with how the world is designed, it is becoming more and more apparent that we're just going to run out of resources eventually and hard-lock. A replenishing ore vein respawn timer would easily subvert this looming shadow that most industrial players feel.

you know you can start a new world with the same char and farm ore for your old one right?

no, it's claimed to be infinite. I doubt the game system is actually capable of that but people have gone out over 10,000 blocks from the core without finding an end. considering the world is a circle it just gets bigger the further you go. it would actually be impressive (and maybe a little sad) if anyone played long enough to actually clear all that out.

i'd suggest create a toggle input at new game creation, a checkbox for 'ore deposits infinite' or not.

a lot of people like it as is, some don't, but there's no telling how many are on each side of the fence. so let the individual decide, then it puts this war to rest.

I disagree with this kind of ask, for any setting or toggle to change the base functionality of the survival game. What is being asked for is mods or cheat codes. it's not the same game anymore when you offer these game-breaking options. There is absolutely no problem with current ore schemes and repair/scrap scenarios (including from multiple fresh character starts & with multiplayers).

Not a specific call-out to you [Hammer Of Evil], but using this as my tirade / counter-position for the Devs to consider:

I don't believe the devs intend people to sit in their perch & automate *every* aspect of this game, just to watch those numbers climb and climb and then whoops- is it even the vision of a survival game anymore? No, not really, factory simulator 2022. To that I say, no thank you. This is the same crowd of folks that would continue to ask to 'automate' everything- map exploration, gardening, base building, ♥♥♥♥ you name it.

Build railways across the map to key areas, so that you can get to where you need to be, make a routine of checking your 'current' ore drill spots, build more railways to get to them, etc. - Does this mean maintaining a lot of Tin from Clay zone to support that strategy? Well yes it does, and it's amazing how much Tin you can get out of just 2 of those large ore.

Get to work, 'spelunk' regularly as this game intends. OR, go play an idle game that just lets you rack up the numbers, is my response to 'industrialist' type gamers. Factorio is pretty good this time of year, I hear.

How much are in a node before it breaks?
dr_magnanimus 2022 年 4 月 17 日 上午 10:10
No. I have thousands of ores from the boulders I drilled already. If you really need more than that, start a new map and carry some ore back to your home world yourself. The game already has an option to give you infinite everything.

If they wanted to play Starbound or Dyson Sphere Program, they'd play Starbound or Dyson Sphere Program, I believe.

What i'm saying is that this game is still in early alpha. If you start making comments that everything is fine, keep it as is then nothing will ever change to better.

I haven't seen such elitism and division in a casual, yes casual, little indie title ever. Easiest solution is just give toggles on map creation at this point, let either side have what they want without worrying about the other
~Durability [on/off]
~Large Node Value [standard/infinite]
~Hunger Degradation [slow/standard/fast]
~XP Gain Rates [standard/varying levels of +%]
Stuff like that

Honestly? I disagree. I feel like some trust in the devs on how they tune their worlds, and the frustrations inside them, goes a long ways.

...except for the automation stuff. that stuff is broken. :P

They arent infinite? Whoa I really hope they change that its not really automation if you have to dissasemble and relocate every drilling op you have on the map after a while.
Which is quite tedious to say the least, really draining the fun.

Ore nodes already have a ludicrous amount of resources. Item repair only requires scrap, which is completely renewable, and enemies tend to drop metal ore/seeds equal to their zone.

Seems like just about every resource is renewable? Except for natural map tiles, I guess.

They're not infinite, but they give somewhere around 1700 ore. Even with 8 drills it'll take like 8-12 hours to deplete a boulder.

A single boulder gives you enough ore that you're pretty much set. Mine two or more of the same time and you'll probably never have to mine anything ever again.

Even if you somehow deplete every single ore boulder on your map and still need more metal just take three boss crystals and whatever else you need to your new map and you're effectively right back to where you were.

I think they're fine as is, but I would like to have better ways to find them. Maybe they could add something like Terraria's spelunker potion or make the existing "ore distance" mining perk also cause boulders to glow in the dark.
