My game has zero sound. I've checked all system settings, reinstalled, and verified files. halp.

Don't know if anyone still needs this, but the problem for me was my controller was my default audio communication device. Disabled it and everything worked fine.

Forcing compatibility Proton Stable 9.2 works for Linux.

Tried this but now the game won't start.

I was able to fix this by toggling my output-devices (pulse). The game sometimes seems to not properly "grab" the proper device at startup. If I switch to another device and then back to the one I want to use, the game has sound again.

The game disables all sound for me as soon as load up a world. The menu is fine but as soon as the world starts up, the sound cuts out completely and not just the game sound, it cuts out every sound (browser, spotify, discord, etc). Tried to switch output devices as well as use compatibility mode but neither of those options helped. I honestly have no idea what the issue is or how to fix it as I haven't had this issue with any other game so far. It's definitely something that should be addressed.

Exact same thing is happening for me, all sound on my entire computer cuts out for as long as I have a world open

Same, found the issue, I think.

I use bluetooth headphones that have a mic. I changed my windows sound output device from "Headphones (Stereo)" to "Headphones (Hands Free AG Audio)" and now it works.

Similar issue to above, 'fs' fix doesn't work for me. Even if i disable telephony or my microphone completely, the game still picks the wrong sound channel.

same problem here

I have a similar issue, when I load my singleplayer world it messes with my bluetooth headset's settings, causing the audio quality to drop to "Tape Recorder Quality" and turning on the microphone (even though there's no mic-related settings in-game). It automatically corrects itself when I close the game. If I had to guess this might be the game trying to use the input device (i.e. microphone and whatever's attached to it) as its audio device, which cuts out sound for some and drops quality to potato for others.

Switching to another audio output (in my case my monitor) and back to the normal soundcard fixed that for me. may also be necessary if you are on KDE to right-click the correct device in the volume control and select "play all audio via this device".

but yeah, i would still consider this a bug that needs a official fix.

I guess I have to wait a little bit more to play this game. Let's hope they fix this issue quickly, it's unplayable without any sound

Same exact issue for me with my bluetooth headset. Audio is poor when using the Hands free option and there is no audio in Stereo mode. Have tried multiple things like disabling other devices but nothing works. Hope they fix this soon!
