OPTIMIZATION!!!!!!
I would like better optimization for weak PCs, otherwise the game is wonderful

PC specs? If you say 5 FPS then it almost sounds like it's not using the graphics card at all, and that's something you can change from the graphics driver settings on your desktop.

I have a 8600k i5 3,6ghz processor and that's the bottle neck. If we build a larger than - field of farmable plants, the game eats up 100% of all the cores. This is an indicative of bad optimization and will become a problem when people build large systems in the game.

I'm willing to bet you just haven't enabled v-sync.

While you might be helpful, this game really is heavy. Have you played modded Minecraft before perhaps? Something like FTB modpacks with a couple hundred mods... because this game is even heavier on CPU than them.

If your PC is too weak to run Core Keeper, you might want to find a new hobby. My 3 year old's 12 year old PC runs just fine.

i do really think it needs better optimization especially for people who play on lower end pcs or laptops. When I play its kinda choppy like somethings off. I can run other 2d games much better than this.

Intteresting. I wonder if its settings related or something in your configuration?

Daily im running, blade and soul and genshin impact and this simultaneously on a stock ryzen 5 3600 With barely any noticable performance drop. (with all games maxed mind you).

Are you running the game in full screen? What your native desktop resolution?

We´re in 2022...

Poeple really should stop buying crap for gaming or games without fulfilling the requirements.

The game runs very well. They should focus on content.

check to see if you have cpu and gpu share load. if you have a weak cpu, then it might help to share the load between them. use quick cpu, msi and undervolt your laptop. bam, pc runs any game at 60fps max graphics. be warned find a youtube video to do this as it can literally break your pc if you do it wrong (you would have to factory reset)

My rig is about a decade old and runs this game just fine. I dropped the water effects down a level to smooth things out a bit, but everything else is at maximum. People need to stop trying to run modern games on a potato.

That being said, this game IS a lot more demanding than it's graphics make it seem. The water and lighting effects are fairly advanced and any game with the kind of automated crafting/factory functionality that this game has is going to hammer away at your performance the more you build it up, especially now that the distance cap has been removed. This concept is so much of a given of this genre that there are entire YouTube channels devoted to using it to cause massive crashes.

On the upside, the developers have mentioned more than once that optimization is a major focus of theirs, and was one of the primary focuses of the developmental branch, so it's likely that the game will continue to get more efficient as the Early Access period continues.
Meet the requirements or save up and spend the money.

If your PC is old like mine and doesn't quite run the game at a decent fps then there is always Geforce Now as an option. That said even on there comps my mob farm and food farm tank them down to 30 - 40 fps and they are suppose to be strong PCs. So people saying the game might need to be optimised, if even a little, aren't Wrong.

I was shocked to see how badly this performs on the Steam Deck and how quickly it drains the battery. Don't get me wrong, it's nowhere near unplayable, but I should be able to max out the graphics settings and still get 4-6 hours of battery out of it playing at 60fps.

I had to drop the settings to medium or low just to get an average 40fps, but I still get regular drops below 30, and I'm only getting 2 hours of battery life. I've got AAA games that look and play better that I get longer battery life out of.

Yep, I returned it after 30 minutes on steam deck. It looked like a great game for it, but no. Runs like crap.
