Best food recipes IMO

When I began looking at cooking I decided to see what combinations would result in the largest amount of nutrition gain. I later realized that in order to level cooking and gardening I would need to amass so much food that I could feed several small armies. Therefor the food value of food is the least important factor of making food.

Good food combos restore health and have matching buff duration.

Mushrooms: Anything mixed with mushrooms will always restore 80 HP. Best paired with Bomb Pepper.

Bomb Pepper: will only restore health if mixed with mushrooms, larva meat, or heart berry. Worth noting that mushrooms completely negate the poor health regen these usually provide. The speed buff is only 1 minute long so its impossible to pair it with another buffs duration.

Glow Tulip: Best paired with Larva Meat. don't mix with Carrocks (no health). Can be mixed with mushrooms or heart berry when out of larva meat.

Heart Berry: Best used with Carrocks. I don't consider the +max HP buff these provide to be particularly useful so I often use Heart Berry as a filler item. They're basically mushrooms you can grow. It takes 3 of these to craft a health potion. Health potions are useful but crafting them won't level up your cooking skill.

Carrocks: Best paired with Heart Berry. Don't mix with Glow Tulip (no health). Provides one of the best food buffs in the game. Can be used to craft armor potions but doing so will not level your cooking skill and will only get you 1 minute worth of buff as opposed to getting 15 minutes of buff from cooking the 3 Carrocks instead.

Larva Meat: Best paired with Glow Tulip. You can farm these from larva and they can also be purchased from an NPC..

There is a higher quality larva meat that I have only ever found 1 of. It drops from the red larva. If I find more I'll experiment and report my findings.

Mushy Pepper Wrap (Mushroom + Bomb Pepper) Healing item
Gooey Tulip Salad (Glow Tulip + Larva Meat) Buff item every 2 mins
Crunchy Berry Pudding (Heart Berry + Carrock) Buff item every 5 mins

I just have a farm with bomb peppers and heart berries growing all the time. At least when I get the seeds since farming doesn't offer the max seed for plant deal as minecraft might even with high level farming/gardening.
