How's the brightness?

So I'm considering picking this game up but wanted to ask a question about the PC port. I was a big fan of Atelier Ryza 1, but when I tried to play 2 I found that the game's contrast and brightness were cranked up super high. I tried to adjust my settings but in the end I couldn't play the game for more than a few minutes without getting a headache.

I've heard they toned that brightness down for Sophie 2, but I wanted to get confirmation just to be sure. If anyone with experience in both games can offer an opinion, I'd really appreciate it!

personally i felt Ryza 1 being alot brighter than Ryza 2, but might have been a shader issue for you or something else. While we still get the usual flashes in Combat with skills, it doesn't feel as bright and overloaded as Ryza to me at all. best watch some videos of gameplay footage to get a better impression.
