This vs WWF No Mercy?
When I'm playing this, I can't help but remember the old times of playing WWF No Mercy, it's been sooo long since I've played that game though. Do you guys remember No Mercy, do you think the two games are on the same level?

this is much better on all accounts, except maybe move variety. There is a natural game expectation inflation when you're talking about different time periods...You're comparing a 2020s game to a 2000 game you have to include a sort of 'inflation' or progression of game design. Would one person have been able to make a game better than No mercy in 2000? No it was probably impossible, but it became possible in 20 years
Yeah, what that guy said. In this day and age Wrestling Empire is the better game.
My advice to the OP is to get a ROM of No Mercy and try to play that on an emulator. They'll have fun for sure but probably also realise that they were wearing rose tinted glasses.

I did actually get a rom and play a couple matches yesterday. It’s still a fun game I think and I appreciate the separate strike and grapple reversal mechanic that it has. I like that a little better than leaving it up to the gods.

Fully agree with all of the above sentiments (I've played the demo and a bit on mobile, but just picked it up here on sale).

But man, No Mercy, Wrestlemania 2000, and even WCW/nWo Revenge... probably have the most kid video game nostalgia from those than any other game (including 007!)
