Custom Theme Mod! (New tutorial)
This mod lets you add custom themes to your wrestlers, the songs that play, for example, during your character's intro! Out now!

New installation tutorial link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LY98dSBa2x4

I am not going to update this mod or make patches anymore, however I've made a tutorial showing how to install it yourself with the mod's source code. This will allow you to install the mod no matter how many updates there's been, unless the game's music system changes dramatically. Maybe someone will take my place one day, but really the game should get official support for custom music.

Game updated again. If you downloaded 1.71 you need to install 1.72 after updating the game.

You're doing a great job continuing to update this mod. Ever contacted Mdickie to include it in the game?

He is against mods for some reason.
Someone posted a screenshot of his reply when they figured out how to mod the game.
"thanks for coming to me instead of putting it out"

So even though he acts like he is ok with mods in the workshop post it is not true

Ok, so I just updated the custom theme mod after updating the game, tried to start, and my antivirus moved wrestlingempire.exe to quarantine.

Can you remove the mod by verifying the files through Steam, then start the game to determine that it's the mod being detected, and not the game itself?

The mod doesn't touch the executable, only the DLL that you give it during installation.

I'm not sure why it did that, but I did remove the exe from quarantine and make it an exception and verify the files so I could start over. I guess what I did wrong was use both of the last two updates instead of just the very latest. It's fine now.

Updated for today's 1.3.8 update.

Just an FYI on punctuation in the file names, a dash seems to be okay. I have mine titled as, for example, "041 AJ Lee - Lets Light It Up.mp3" and it hasn't caused any problems. Note I do have "Lets" instead of "Let's."

Yeah I don't think it actually matters any more. Originally the mod got the song files in the folder and wrote their names to a file to track which song had which number ID, and the format of the file relied on there being no commas. Doesn't do that any more though so the warning is pretty much redundant.

Thanks for the notification. Update out now.
I should probably make a one-click installer at some point so you don't have to drag and drop the assembly file every time the game updates. Or maybe I'll make it auto-update, if the user allows it.

I don't supposed there some way to have it point to the file on disk like the mobile games did? Probably a long shot, but thought I'd ask.

In a way, but unfortunately the game itself does not have a consistent way to find the installation folder.

However I have come up with a system that should find the game's folder by going through your Steam installation settings. The automatic installer is available now on the download page.

I wrote it late at night, or early in the morning depending on your perspective, so it may not work in which case it will default to the old manual installation method.

I think you misunderstood. I meant instead of cycling through a number of themes you could add an option to simply point to the music file that the game loads when needed. I know the mobile version of Wrestling Revolution worked like that.
