New game would let them really expand the scope, flesh out the mechanics, and give us new weapons and abilities. Rocket launchers, las cannons, jump packs, cyclone missile launchers, vehicles, etc.
This game was great, but I'm not sure how much more it will fit in the framework. A new game can build on the good and discard some of the bad. I hope they're working on a new game. About 1 more DLC would really make this into a finished polished experience, and then they could expand into something new.
Honestly it'd be a far more interesting game playing something that isn't Grey Knights. Don't get me wrong, they're cool enough, but we're getting an extremely limited subset of the toys available to space marines.
They could also go with ordinary humans, like your party comprising an inquisitorial retinue (which opens the way to just about anything in terms of classes, along with a crazy variety of esoteric equipment). Or one I thought might be cool is Dark Angels, they're very much in the habit of sending out small squads on clandestine operations to hunt traitors (ie. Chaos), and they get the full range of normal space marine toys.
Honestly, I fully agree with you. Don’t get me wrong the grey knights are fun
An interesting in their own way. But they are rather restrictive because they don’t really get access to all the wide range of interesting space marine gear. Or even just the interesting gear that regular humans have.
Even the sisters of battle, have a lot more variety for classes and war gear, than the grey knights do. The game does feel a bit…. Restricted because of the faction we have to play as.
Just allowing us to have auxiliary units or Allied ones that we can choose an upgrade, from guardsman, to other chapters could go a long way to making things more interesting.
Hello inquisition? Yeah, lorgar is here. Yeah no he chose a pretty obvious fake name. Yeah just take care of them. The emperor protects.
I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
This place is perfectly loyal to the emperor!
I’m not at all bringing up the fact that the sheer variety of classes of enemies in this game opens the door for plenty of advancement for playing as nurgllites.
Or the fact that when you really think about it, the deaf guard are perfect for this kind of game because they’re basically the only ones who are completely sane, but still able to gain gifts and mutations. All the other legions are filled with madness and lack of self preservation, that would make playing as them pretty difficult.
But the death guard? They are pretty much still completely intact. And about as sane as the iron warriors.
It’s not at all like the mechanics, models, abilities and classes are basically already there to start as a Newley formed cult with some guardsman and an apostate preacher, with the ability to corrupt other guardsmen and slowly build yourself up , unlocking new classes by summoning them from the warp, from basic plague marines up to deamons and later corrupting knights and summoning elite marines like the new Lord of Virulence, that encourages a play style about damage overtime and weakening before going in for the kill or corruption.
And eventually attempting to unlock ascension to deamon prince and summoning ships by corrupting planets.
I’m not saying any of that at all. Or how fun that would be..
I am certain I am a 100% loyal servant of the imperium. We all are here.
Hydra dominatus.
