Psilencer is only better in early game due to its range and Distrupting shot.
Incinerator is not really viable. Only Purifier has skills for it, to make it a good weapon.
It is best with Purgator to train in Psy Cannon and Grenades or Astral Aim.
Psicannon (and all AOE) only sort of fall off later into the game as you start running into solo 'boss' enemies and less clumps of trash.
Cannon is also garbage vs bloom since it has no super high single target damage potential. Any melee with crit build can do 15 dmg an attack by comparison, and bloomspawn often have cloud of flies reducing dmg even more. Also cant cast vulnerable on them.
Purgators are fine. They have a role. But their AOE does fall off.
Psilencer with support fire and it's stupidly long range and ability to ignore half cover are great for messing up single enemies and generally being the longest-range fire support you can do. And you can still mess up crowds of chaff at close range with Scattershot.
Psycannon meanwhile is the crowd mulcher that excels at pouring out maximum damage overall especially with upgrades to Psychic Onslaught.
Well, Psilencers come with that stock, in a sense.
So far I've found T3 versions of the psicannon that can apply enraged, pinned, and +2 stun - and all works with onslaught. I havent seen any psilencers with particularly good debuffs like that. Without special debuffs and sustained single target damage potential, shooting is just kinda eh.
I hope they'll fix this soon, can't play without upgrading my ship...
And it is entirely worth it to be able to spam Scattershot.
