in all other mission Types you just run from one enemy group to another and try to kill them before the even can react. Which is not that bad. But gets old.
So i appreciate a Missiontype where you have to split and the enemy will do something.
Feels more like Xcom
on harder difficulties and in the late game its impossible to save all anyway
I'm with the OP on this one. I avoid this mission if at all possible. The difficulty of the bonus objective seems too high to be worth doing it for extra requisitions. It encourages my knights to take damage to draw fire away from the guardsmen and that will just result in them getting more injuries than normal. Doing the mission doesn't even cause a bloom reduction because its on planets with 0 bloom. I can't see any up-side to this mission at all. Its just worse than doing other missions in every way.
Its basically the opposite of bloom hives where you could rush the mega plant and then beam out. Now you have to kill all of the enemy and survive with these peasants as your only tool.
Some things that made the missions easier for me: taking over the enemy for 3 turns stratagem. "50% crazy" grenades, and last but not least - environmental damage.
You can heal the servitors with tech marine and the purify stratagem works on the soldiers as well. Keep them alive a sec longer. Good job guardsman.
Also Guardsmen do .... sligthly.. more damage to the enemy when the enemys armor and cover is gone and/or they are weakened.
