Ritual with Vikar. Newbie here...
I read up a bit and this is supposedly a mid/late game thing. I'm familiar with a few boss strats as I've read up a bit on the limited info I can find and have a few different ideas. I'm going to try sprinting past everything with 2 Purgators each w flame thrower, an Apothecary and a Justicar. Hell I dont even have 2 Justicars yet bc I returned one to Titan before the first Chapter Master report because he didnt have a Talent/Unique stat. Yet to unlock and advanced classes. I only have 10 knights total.

I'm currently on day 197 in a Ruthless setting Campaign. Furthest I've got into a play through and my third attempt at a campaign. My very first intro to the game I tried a ruthless campaign because I've played a ton of 40K turn based games. Well I got destroyed being new to this Xcom style of game play. It wasn't fun AT ALL and I didn't know the game mechanics that well. I then started a "Normal" campaign which, after getting the hang of things, became way way too easy.

Now I'm back to Ruthless and after initial early success I'm mostly getting destroyed. Some missions I do well but the last 3 have had several Knights in Critical Condition. It's like I went from slightly higher difficult to EXTREME for no reason what so ever.

I haven't even started the Poxwalker Necroposy, the VERY FIRST research project Vikar wants done, in hopes that I can halt game progress and stabalize game difficulty until I get some gear and level up my Knights. Well no such luck. Seems that once the Dreadnaught mission popped up I'm getting totally destroyed with tons of Patrols and insane Reinforcements/Warp Spawns every mish. What the hell happened?

ANYWAY. i'm on day 197 Still relatively "new" with only 10 Knights and none over level 5. Yes it's my fault for allowing the Bloom to reach level 5. Planet in questioin is Fides VII. Should I even bother trying the Morbus mission? I have 5 in critical Condition and can barely field 4 Knights(-8, -8, -5 health, and 1 uninjured Knight). Hell I don't even have a single decent piece of Tier II armor(just got T3 weaps, armor, wargear unlocked) yet.

Should I bother even trying this insane mission with my level 5, 4, 4, 3 Knights that have NO GEAR to speak of? Or just dont let this happen again and come back with Exterminatus when I unlock it?

Once you have to use injured guys for every mission it may be impossible to recover with only 10 slots. I think that is where the hardness came in.

I also noticed that, with dlc, the longer you delay at least the craftworld mission, the more out of control things get. I think it isn't as balanced as it should be, and that frigate is basically required to keep infection down. I can only theorize, as I don't have it yet.

I'm on days not much higher than you are, with dlc, and ♥♥♥♥ is not easy, and that's on normal difficulty. I also have bad gear, I don't understand that one. Wargear slot stuff is ok, because I maxed it first, but seeing as in other playthroughs I didn't, and had better stuff, i'm thinking it got changed (likely i'm just unlucky).

i'm stuck doing all the morbus missions, because idk how exterminatus works, not that I can afford to upgrade that anyways. I'm also kind've afraid the world will never have a mission again, though come to think of it, that probably makes things easier.

I just unleashed the Craftworld because I can't manage things. Then that turn had a Morbus mission distract me from it. For you, i'd do Morbus and then focus towards the storyline asap. The only thing that might ruin that is Vakir being injured for forever, and having to use her injured and no stratagems for missions.
