i would say whatever speed you want is the right one.
Yes, if you take too long to do the craftworld mission, you'll start to get missions more often (you will eventually be overwhelmed to the point where the bloom will grow too fast for you to keep up). With that said, yes, the map will grow and the missions will spread once you do complete the craftworld mission. I think you're on the right track by working on tier 2 warp drive (should be followed up by prognosticars), but you got yourself in a position where you'll have to be even more careful with which missions you commit to.
not really, but you will get harder missions(needing more prognosticars to get all the missions) and valdor (or whatever the grandmaster's name is) will take longer to give you the advanced classes(not too long but still kinda long)
tl;dr spam prognosticars or die.
