Callidus... um... WHAT?????
Okay, I know some 40K lore. I played TT and have played a lot of 40K video games.

I know what a Callidus assassin is. I know what they do.

SO WHY IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR IS MY CALLIDUS AGGROING EVERYTHING WHILE SHAPESHIFTED???????????????????????????????

6 games now. Six tries with sizable enemy squads that I could take even on hard difficulty, EXCEPT that as soon as my Callidus gets close, EVERYONE sees her and attacks.

I guess Nurgle got tired of her sneaking around? That is really the ONLY reason I can give for her suddenly being visible to every enemy while she is supposed to be incognito.

sounds like the Emperor's justice for using dishonorable sneakery instead of Righteous Melee™

But I WANTED to melee with her!!!!!

And every time I try, she gets fried/plagued/bolted/smashed into bloody paste before she gets into range.
Bug? sounds like a bug. I haven't seen mine get detected while disguised. I do think it's odd she doesn't reveal terrain around her when she scouts.

Now hold your horses people. There IS one way she can aggro while shapeshifted. There is a warp surge that prevents your units (this includes assassains), from getting affected by boons.
Say you're minding your own business, and you tell your Callidus assassain to shapeshift, and then you star moving her around. Then a warp surge with that effect occurs (Your units cannot benefit from boons). You send her in and then she gets spotted, and attacked (which usually results in her dying).
If THIS is what happened to you, either you ignored that warp surge or it is a bug.

One time I had that warp surge effect so figured it was the Nurgle messing with me. The other times, I did not.

Always annoying.

If your men are stalked around a door, and busting through the door would aggro, and you were trying to get close with your assassin....you were a little too close.

Radio silence while behind enemy lines? Don't want her to be a real scout and mark targets for long range fire? Too OP?

The Emperor only knows.

Yeah, Grey Knights are not very subtle, are they?

Then again, do they usually NEED to be?

I've been relying heavily on my Calidus to massacre important targets for dozens of missions now and I've never had anyone spot her while she was shapeshifted. Like, ever.

I've had her hit from collateral damage as enemies use AoEs to hit other units, and I suspect the AI is doing this deliberately as sometimes it seems the AoEs are angled in such a way as to hit her, but aside from that she's been able to de-stealth, shank two nerds and re-stealth with impunity. Just sitting there like it ain't no thang.

I've got no idea what you're encountering but I feel like maybe either she isn't shapeshifted when you think she is, or as others have suggested there's some sort of warp surge interfering.

Also don't listen to the nerds saying your melee assassin is too close to the enemy. That's where she belongs. Just make sure she only reveals herself when it'll mean everybody else is dead. Or, at least, everybody that matters.

Yeah, I bet it was a bug, lag or maybe the warp surge that negated boons. Once, I KNOW it was that, but the other 5 times, not so much.

I dunno. Polymorphine shapeshifting is supposed to be well nigh infallible in 40K. Hell, Callidus assassins regularly fool Aeldari and Drukhari, for goodness sake! They can take the form of 'anyone'! So it was a HELL of a shock. After I calmed down, and reloaded my game the nest day, I didn't bother trying to move her close. Instead? I charged my dreadnought into the midst of that group and killed them all with fire and steel in 1 turn.

I bet it was a bug, but I have not been able to reproduce it since that particular mission. I am playing a new campaign, so I shall see if it happens again.

Just one more jest to lay at Nurgle's feet to be returned with fire and fury, huh?

Yeah. I'm really sorry to hear you've had such a rough time with what is arguably the most fun/satisfying assassin of the bunch.

She is freaking HILARIOUS!

Kinda scary, but very funny to use too.
