Balance patch with new DLC?
Was there a balance patch with the new DLC? I heard the old DLC broke the game balance wise. I beat vanilla on the second hardest difficulty ironman and what to know what to expect coming back to the game.

if your definition of balance solely lies in how viable the stun build or the intercepter and justicars do everything in one turn build are then the balance has not changed. I think just about everything else as options has increased in viability even on legendary due to either what the assasins bring to the table or the direct balance changes.

My concern mainly came from the difficulty spike that Duty Eternal introduced. I beat the vanilla game on the second hardest difficulty with not much trouble. Just trying to assess how I'd go with the new challenge considering everyone's complaints.

Game is fine. If you've played it at all you know what the principal issues are (early game difficulty spike, complete imbalance between enemy armour and yours, many DOT effects are weak/easily resisted, melee autos don't work on Plague Marines).

Assassins don't really up the difficulty persay, other than they're accompanied by the new Tentarus mission (which I haven't played yet, but looks like absolute cancer unless you cheese it with mass teleport spam). They offer some nice answers to common encounter issues (key enemy is hidden behind a wall and a wave of expendables, armour stacking invalidates your damage, psychic powers are stronger than your own...).
