What is the stasis chamber for?
I don't get it. Is it useful?

u have to kill one knight so u can max out other knights worst mechanic in the game

You can Commune With The Fallen on the barracks screen and consume a dead knight to give some bonus xp to one of your surviving knights.

Basically a catch-up mechanic so that you're not doomed to fail the campaign if you make poor decisions and let a bunch of knights die.

alrighty. though how can my knights die? I mean i know that they die when downed after the "3 turn recovery" period but in past saves my knights always come back as critically wounded and simply cannot be used.

edit: in any case, it's so the xp I spent on a knight doesn't get wasted?

After they're critically wounded 3-4 times in a row on successive missions the knight will die permanently. That's when they get sent to the stasis chamber and you can commune with them.

You can see how manly lives each knight has left as a stat on the barracks screen, called "Resilience" or something like that.

Yes if they die.

level 1-3 give 1 point
level 4-6 give 2 point
level 7-9 give 3 point

It's only way to make a FULL SPECED KINGHT

I don't think it's worth anything below Ruthless(Hard difficulty) so if you are playing easy or standard it's safely to not build at beginning and wait till very late game if you want to max some knights.

im pretty sure its useless unless you want to play risk and have knights die from critical injuries.

Used to be very minimal even on hardest difficulty.

New DLC Frigate basically adds an auto mission that will wound knights and even kill them though. This is fantastic. With 4-5 points in recruitment req rewards (very useful now that we have full reclassing) you can basically trade 2 requisition for a knight that you can toss on these missions and get 2-3 spec points when they finally kick the bucket. So you're getting Servitors/Grimoires/Req, and powering up your main squad at the same time.

The only downside is you basically need an extra barracks upgrade (so one early, one by end of game) but even with that small cost the sheer amount of resources you get out of the Frigate more than overwhelms that.

how do I get this frigate?

In the DLC, once you've completed the Craftworld, three missions will pop up to "cleanse atmospheric purifiers". They're pretty easy technophage missions. Once you're done two of them another mission will pop up (still do the third, it unlocks T2 wargear for tech marines/dread).

That new mission is pretty difficult, you have to cleanse five shrines in order while dealing with ongoing reinforcements. Once you're done it though, you unlock a shiny new frigate that can go ship 4 marines off to complete a mission for you. Like literally every mission spawn it can go complete one of the missions. Just hover in the middle of the map, send it off to complete one while you go after another.

It won't complete any bonus objectives for req, but you'll get the main objective. Super helpful and really cuts back some of the difficulty of the DLC (reminds me of getting your first set of chosen weapons in WOTC)
