You need to use middle click to send the frigate to another planet. It's not exactly intuitive and the tooltip appears only once.
To send it on a combat mission - you need to choose a planet with a mission like normal, and and press Send Frigate button at the bottom. You choose whom to send there and hope that they will win and not take too much injuries.
Do note that Frigate needs Geller Field upgrade to pass through Warp storms, or it will return after bumping onto it. It also has it's own speed, so it may not be able to reach some missions in time.
Also i wonder how it interacts with enemy ships? I have no idea. But a single escort class is no match to even a light cruiser. Escorts are usualy used in squadrons of 2-4 to begin with in a fleet formation.
Thank you. I must have missed the tool tip. I tried to find a way to send to planets and missions but all I ever saw was 'out of range' even if it was two planets away, so I had no idea if that would send it. But that is very helpful. Thank you.
thank you
