And In hours of play, it varies.
Depends how much time you spent customising and playing hardest difficulties or not… let say in normal, it’s 80-100h probably, if you go fast.
And if you like challenge and take your time, try to experiment multiple builds for the GKs, etc etc… let say 120-150h or so to finish one full campaign.
I didn’t play xcom games, so I can’t compare directly there, but based on my xp and comments I saw, at least 120h in ruthless or legendary per campaign completed seems correct.
And 80-100 in normal, something like that.
Please clarify what do you mean "campaign like xcom". First of all there are few of those. Second, what are you looking for?
In this campaign you travel in the spaceship, every so often 3 missions spawn with different bonuses, if you chose your mission you would have to travel there (takes time), unless you are very lucky and have fully upgraded warp drive you would not be able to reach all missions. There are also enemies navigating the map, however encounter with them is more of textual quest stuff. Later in the game map expands.
Once you arrive at the mission place you can start a mission. Squad size is limited to 4 knights. The missions kinda like xcom, however the game have a mechanic that is rewarding aggressive playthrough and overwatch turtling simply doesn't make too much sense.
There are story missions and there are boss battles: they are few but very fun. Bosses are not simply buffed versions of regular enemies (like Rulers from some DLC in XCOM 2) but a totally different beasts with their own things.
Damage to you and by you is guaranteed with the chance to crit (do additional damage or cause negative status)
IMHO basically out of all xcom-likes it is stands out as the least similar one.
PS: as someone who has over way too many hours in xcom then I probably should I really liked the game.
I do not believe you.,
