Egress Options -- Get your pilots home alive
So I've noticed after making a bombing run, jets will just pick the direction they pull off from. More often then not it appears they drop ordinance and then bank right and out. Sometimes this is the worst possible option because there's nothing but friendlies on the left yet they choose to fly through hostile territory coming home.

Would it be possible to designate a direction to come off a target?
The best idea I can think of is having the EVAC button split in half so EV is on the left-side of the button and AC is on the right side... this way you still know it's the 'EVAC' key but you choose which way to peel off based on which 'half' of the button is pressed. You can then change a key-binding so 'V' breaks right and 'X' breaks left or something.
This could also apply to manually dropped positions. Have 'FIRE' drop and bank left, have 'POS' drop and bank right.

Turn off "Auto-Evac Winchester" in the gameplay options, and you'll be able to tell aircraft which direction to manuever after they drop their ordinance.

I think, if you give the planes a move order after drop, (to the left), and THEN hit h for evac, they go leftwise. yes perhaps you need manual control; i always use manual controls;

So essentially choose 'Fire Pos', hold shift and right-click in the direction I want them to bail and then hit Evac as soon as they start their turn?

90% of the time I use 'Fire Pos' because I hate losing line of sight on the target and the jet goes stupid. Yes moving targets become a problem but I'd rather quickly right-click on the unit (when nearing drop-range) than risk losing LoS and fly right into hostile airspace to 'turn around'.

Glad to help! I tend to forget my own advice, and fixate on the spectacle of bombs laying waste to an enemy position-and then I realize I forgot to order my plane to evac and the pilot is frantically trying to dodge 6 missiles at once. :b
