What is the best East German division?

I would recommend starting with 4th if you like IFV infantry, and 7th if you prefer medium tanks. The other two, KDA (horde infantry and MLRS) and BLG (foot infantry) are trickier to play.

Berliner and KDA are arguably thee worst. But they are also arguably some of the most fun divisions in the game, I doubt anyone will regret trying them even if they're let's say asymmetrically balanced

There is no worst division, just someone that not prefer that playstyle. I see people that are really good with KDA or 7th division. With KDA you must constantly push and put pressure on enemy line if you just sit in defense you will probably lose.

4th and Berliner are great city fighters. 4th does get somewhat of an edge with its forward deployment for pretty much ever type of infantry with the Jagers--SF, AA, ATGM.

Berliner is great if you don't mind taking a few more seconds to get to the city. Plus you can get all your infantry in fast APCs. Jager trucks and APC speed on road is only a 8 km/h different but go off-road and you'll be in a world of pain.

Berliner does have that flexibility with APCs. You can also call in a ton more air-to-ground support with fixed wing aircraft.

Both are great and can be fine-tuned for different cities or just toggle between them for fun.

4th 7th and KdA are all different. BG has the best infantry and worst tanks.

KDA division is pretty OP if you know how to use it. KDA infantry is pretty good when they're next to an MP unit. They all become your personal orc horde. Also BM21 napalm and have veteran 2 T-54 which become elite tanks with a cv unit. Two cards of OSA at veteran two are really great keeping helos away and low ecm planes. 4th division is a well rounded division with FS-jagers and BMP1 moto units. Air units among east german divisions are not great. They're pretty sub-par.

7th is rather underpowered compared to other tank divs so you gotta treat it as a mech inf. div instead and use the tanks as close range brawlers. You get a lot of t72s thankfully.

Many of their medium tanks have autoloaders and Resolute, so if you can actually get a platoon of them into brawling range, they'll slaughter much more expensive tanks like Abrams with repeated side-shots.

4th if you want to rely on a good para opener it can give you a nice advantage
7th if you want to focus on tanks and arty+ other supports
KDA if you want to focus on spam inf and artillery
i wouldnt recommend berliner groupen is very under powered and overly defensive it requires an easily counterable play style i find it fun to try but always exspect to lose
